Monthly Archives: October 2012

Introduction

On this page you will find regular updates on what is happening at Marlw Riders, and you will be able to comment or add information. As well as our traditional weekly ride reports, we will have separate posts about upcoming events and planned rides for the coming weekend.
The biggest innovation will be the weekly ‘What’s happening’ posts. This will tell you what is planned for Saturday, and also give you the chance to say what are you plans for any Sunday rides.

You can check back here regularly, or subscribe so that you receive updates as emails.

Raid Pyranean

Last week Jonathan led a group of friends including several Marlow Riders over the (in)famous Raid Pyranean.  For those that don’t know, the classic RAID Pyrenean is a 720km bike ride from the Atlantic to the Med to be completed in less than 100 hours.

This is a group photo before they set off.  Look at all the smiling faces.  Strangely there is no group photo from after the finish

Here’s a photo at the top of one of the Cols – the Col d’Aubisque

Weekly Update 2nd October

MEMBERSHIP – IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ !
It has been great to see so many new faces joining us for the various rides on a Saturday morning recently. However, as you know, the terms of our insurance does limit the number of non-members we can have on any particular ride to five AND does limit the number of times a non-member can ride with the club to five rides. To avoid the risk of invalidating our insurance, we are obliged to enforce these rules so can anyone who has ridden with the club five times but not paid their membership, please complete a membership form which can be found on http://www.marlowriders.co.uk or bring it with you next time you plan to ride. Membership fee is £35 plus £5 admin fee. Unfortunately without this; you will not be able to ride with the club. Many thanks for your understanding and support.

We should all be inspired by some of our fellow Riders who took on and achieved the “Raid Pyrenees ” More info can be found on: raid-2012blogspot.com
